Invitation to focus group “Recycling North Sea crab shells”

26. February, 16:0018:00

ttz Bremerhaven is a partner in the research and development project “Development of solutions for the regional crab value chain” coordinated by the Thünen Institute and funded by the state of Lower Saxony.

A new de-shelling process could make relevant quantities of North Sea crab shells (Crangon crangon) available regionally in the future. To this end, sustainable, regionally valuable and feasible utilization options (dried powder, chitin, chitosan, etc.) are being evaluated.

The focus group will focus on the production of chitin powder for further sale to special users. At 2 p.m., project coordinator Arne Schröder will report on the current status of the overall project in his presentation FISCHERFRÜHSTÜCK 2.0. It is recommended to attend this lecture as preparation.

This event is limited to 10 participants. For further information and registration, please contact Linda Böhm lboehm@ttz-bremerhaven.de. The focus group will be recorded for the purpose of scientific evaluation.
