Organic aquaculture stands for animal welfare and environmental protection.

But is the basic standard enough or is there more to it? We discuss this during a bio brunch using the example of salmon farming and carp ponds.

Jonathan Schleyken/Naturland

Jonathan Schleyken works as an expert for aquaculture and fisheries at Naturland e.V.. He completed his master’s degree in aquaculture at the University of Rostock. Since then, he has been passionately committed to promoting a more ecologically sustainable approach in both sectors.

 

 

 

 

Nicole Knapstein/knapstein seafood

Nicole Knapstein has been a freelance campaigner for sustainable fisheries and organic aquaculture for more than 20 years. In doing so, the historian keeps an eye on both primary production and the market.
